Queensgate receives over 1000 gift donations in Barnardos Christmas Appeal
Queensgate Shopping Centre partnered with children's charity Barnardo’s for another year, to ensure local children all enjoy a magical Christmas Day, and are thrilled to announce they received over 1,397 gift donations, enriching the lives of so many.
Launched on Saturday 18 November, Queensgate invited shoppers to visit the purpose-built gift box located on the upper floor outside 02 to donate gifts for children and teenagers, ranging from ages 0 to 19, including items like Lego, active/sports equipment, sensory toys, pretend/imaginary play items, art/craft sets, board/card games and puzzles, books, dolls (Barbie, etc), as well as clothes and accessories.
Last year, Queensgate saw over 1,260 gifts donated, and this year are overjoyed to have received even more, showing just how generous the local shoppers have been.
Lynn McNish, Strategic Manager for Children’s Services at Barnardo's Peterborough & Cambridgeshire, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the ongoing generosity of the local community. She added “The meaningful impact of these gifts on the lives of numerous children and families facing challenges during the Christmas season has shown Christmas spirit is alive and thriving. We can’t thank people enough.”
Katie Chapman, Marketing and Commercialisation Manager at Queensgate Shopping Centre, expressed, "We felt privileged to support Barnardo's this year. Christmas can be exceptionally challenging for numerous individuals, and we aimed to contribute in any way we could to create a positive impact.
